In cases where design renderings are essential for client's decision-making, we include the service on our proposal. New construction designs are estimated on a square footage basis, categorized as complex, average, or simple.

In commercial projects, a base cost percentage fee is applied when most appropriate, considering factors like complexity and travel distance. The following are rough estimates for budgeting purposes:
- Site Consultation: $450, plus an optional hourly-charged consultation report.
- Detailed Structural Engineering Design: $185/hr. Involvement depends on building design complexity.
- Structural Drafting: $115/hr. Technical detailing time required varies with project complexity. For simpler projects, structural markups are provided, potentially leading to increased involvement during the construction phase.
- Field Review: $375 for the Victoria area. This is generally mandated by municipalities for most projects to ensure construction aligns with design intent. Usually, two reviews are necessary—one for rebar placement and another for framing before structural elements are covered. The number of field reviews largely depends on contractor phasing and execution.
- Construction Phase: $185/hr, tracked in 15-minute increments. This phase involves communication and coordination during construction and is contingent on the builder's experience and unforeseen site conditions. The average project typically requires 1-3 hours during this phase.
